A start to Biodynamic bees and keeping them…

Hello all of you out there in blog land.  Many of you know that I am attending classes for Biodynamic farming.  It is my desire to create my own farm in the near future.  However, like most others trying to survive in this economy, I am still working on funding.  One of the cornerstones will be a bee sanctuary in the center of the land with herbs and medicinal plants surrounding the hives, orchards surround the plants and then vegetable gardens on the outside.

Last weekend I took my first course in Biodynamic bee keeping. There are three classes in the series.  The next one is in June and then September.

The honey bee is vital to our future. Without the honey bee we cannot grow food. In many countries around the world they are passing new legislation to protect the bees from chemicals that are depleting their population. Without honey bees we will starve. That is the absolute bottom line truth. Over the past 10 years there has been an epidemic of bees vanishing from hives due to poisons that either confuse them or kill them. Bee sanctuaries are places where humans can provide an organic, healthy environment for the bees so that they do not travel to areas where they become exposed to anything that could damage them or their hives.

I’ve inserted some links below which are videos of a man with a vision.  He created Spikenard Farm to save the honey bees.  Gunther Hauk has also written a new book entitled, “Towards saving the honey bee”.  Gunther practices Biodynamic bee keeping and that’s why I really respect his work.

If anyone raises bees and you’re searching for a  better way to handle them, Biodynamic is the answer. You can find books on bees that Ruldolf Stiener authored  for Biodynamic bee keeping. Stiener also has some very interesting views on the bee that can only bring you into a broader understanding of the bee, yourself, and the world around you.

Biodynamic farming does not practice anything that does not occur naturally.  There are biodynamic guidelines for bee keeping as well.  Biodynamic bee keepers are swarm catchers and one would be amazed with what ease these keepers can catch swarms. There are several reasons to utilize swarm collection to create hives for your gardens and farms.  Swarms are from a healthy hive.  The bees are living in an area in which you want to keep them so they are familiar with weather and food sources. The more ferrell the better.  It seems that ferrell hives are surviving many of the issues killing the hybrid bees. It is essential to have hives with strong queens to create offspring that are healthy to perpetuate the future life of the hive.

If you are contemplating becoming a keeper of bees, you may want to learn how to catch swarms to fill your hives.  One of the links below shows Gunther in action.  There are hot lines in every community where one can get added to a list to collect swarms in your particular area. When the police, fire and pest control workers are notified regarding a bee swarm, they will forward the call to the local call center for the bee keepers in that area.   So if you happen to be on that list, you’ll most likely receive a call.  Swarm collecting is the preferred method in biodynamics to create hives.

The brood chamber is very important because it is the part of the box or container where the bees live, where they make wax, collect food, nectar and raise there young.  It has to be a super chamber to fit the bill for Biodynamics.  The super chamber is a chamber that’s long in length.  The queen loves to inspect the wax chambers before ever depositing an egg in one.  Since she lays many eggs a day, her natural way of doing her work is to go up and down the full length of the waxed area of her hive.  She needs a lot of room.  The longer the chamber, the happier she is.  I have added a link for the uk demeter standards for Biodynamic bee keeping in case anyone is interested in learning more about this.

There are NO artificial queens allowed in Biodynamic bee keeping and NO synthetic chemicals of any kind.  Most Biodynamic bee keepers never use even an organic-based chemical.  There are NO artificial drone products.

The bees are never fed anything but  ”bee tea” which is a tea made to feed the bees during times where food is limited — and no wax foundations.   Bee tea is a combination of clean water, organic white sugar, salt with minerals, a selection of herbs, chamomile, and, at the end, 10 percent of the mixture should be honey from the hive you’re feeding.  Using what is called a Top Bar Hive is really the only way for bees to do what they do in wax production so that wax foundations are not used.  Most of the time we have no idea where that wax is coming from.  In Biodynamics,  the farm is considered an organ and anything brought in from the outside could severely cause an imbalance.

The wax is a major component of the hive.  The bees communicate through vibrations to each other on the wax.  It sends out waves of information essential to keeping thousands of bees working together. Bees know what to do and the best thing we can do is give them what they need. The wax serves so many important functions and the bees know how to make it on their own.

I have changed my direction in what kind of hives I will eventually be collecting my swarms for. I tend to gravitate towards the traditional ways. I really love the old school German hives that are hand woven with cow manure on the outside.

In the future I will write more about bees, but for now, I will keep it short and sweet.   Plus you have all of these great links to check out!

Grow food, love the honey bees and create a farm.

Energy Screening for many Reasons…

http://www.metalamore.com/ma/gallerywindows.php

http://www.metalamore.com/ma/

Since energy is my forte, I spend most of my time studying energies, fixing energies, changing energies and sometimes adapting energies.  The focus in this lifetime for me includes the training I’ve received from teachers, mentors, and other assorted helpers which mostly centers around energy and how to handle, adapt and change it.  It reminds me in a fun way of Mickey Mouse in the movie “Fantasia”.

One of the most interesting energy usages comes from a technique I learned from a Lakota medicine woman that I apprenticed with for over a year when I was about 23 years old.  ”Screening” is the name she used for this technique.   I learned her technique and over the ensuing years, I have modified, developed and adapted it so it can be used in a variety of situations.  It is Energy Medicine, a powerful remedy to cure the undercurrent of issues/ideas which we tend to battle out of a belief that they are somehow out of our control.

When you first start working with this idea, thought, imagining, you’ll want to use creativity.  Make it your own; own it.  Imagination utilizes the right hemisphere of  the brain, present moment, the God part of the brain, if you will, to activity work,  divinity magic in the world of solid form (left hemisphere).

I have added a few links so you can get a visual image of the kind of screen I create.   These links should give you some guidelines when creating or visually thinking about designing your own screening method.  Since I’ve been working with screening for a while, I have become extremely proficient to the point where the beings I work with on other planes actually shoot the images into my mind.  This direct connection actually bypasses much of the early work that I used to undertake to get the information needed.

The screens can be as large as you can imagine for the task at hand.  For example, let’s say you’re screening your yard because you have excess insect issues.  Your screen may be as large as the area you need to cover.  On the other hand, if you’re using a screen to work on a mouse, you may come up with something that resembles a tea screen for steeping tea.  Over the years, I have used a wide variety of screens of every size and shape.   Sometimes they have a tight mesh and sometimes they’re wide open such as links in a chain.  The colors of the screens can also vary depending on the energy needed.  I always allow the beings to show me what we’ll be using as far as size, mesh, color and type of material they’re created with.

When screening you are crossing over into a 64 dimensional level.   You are clearing energies that in the beginning you may not see.  In the beginning, you may need to imagine more, create a bit more in your mind.  Eventually you will grasp it and it will no longer be as much work.  The being(s) who can assist you are what you’re  comfortable with.  Use a being that you trust or feel good about.  Examples for these beings and the physical forms they may take are entities such as angels, mythical gods, fairies, elves, light rays or light balls.  Choose whatever you like, whatever makes you feel you have the help and support for the work you need to do.   Everyone’s work and choices will different.

Questions are often good.  I actually use screening for most of my work.  When I am working on a person, animal or a piece of land, I may have no idea where to start or what will be the most helpful for this situation.  I will often ask the question, What does this person, situation need?  What is being blocked here?  To what level is the person, structure clogged?  What is the best use of screening right now?  A voice or a thought will produce the answer.  Sometimes the answer may be short and sweet.

Next, two things can happen.   One scenario is that I will call in my light beings team to show me and help me create the screen or screens needed.  The highest number of screens I’ve ever been involved with at one time is 74, one at a time.  In most cases only one, two or possibly three are needed.

Sometimes the light beings team may show up on their own and notify me of a job or a screening assignment.  I help them by forming it and bringing it into the physical world and just act as an anchor at times.

Another important item that I should mention is that, at least in my work, the screens are usually some kind of metal such as  platinum, gold, silver, or material combinations that I cannot identify.  The screens look different, feel different and are a variety of colors.

Now for the mini blog demo.

I have a dog that I am not sure how to help. I ask a question to my light beings.  “What kind of screening is needed to help this dog”?  Then I may hear or see an image.  In my make-believe scenario, let’s say I get the message, “In the tenth layer the dog has picked up a disease from its human”.  This would mean to me that the dog took on an energetic disease for the human, for whatever reason, a long time before it manifested as a 3-D or third layer disease in the body.  I would prepare for the work by visualizing or seeing my light beings. We would create the metal, form it, and color it.  We would make as many screens as we needed based on the beings who handle the tenth layer to clear not only that level or layer, but all 64.  Each screen is made individually for different reasons.  Then together as a team we’ll put our energies into the screen by lifting it to the top or at the end of the 64 layers.  Sometimes, for whatever reason, I cannot get there on my own.  So I will put my energy into the mix and wait for the screen to come into my visual levels.  As the screen drops through it clears, cuts out, repairs, and evens out all of the issues that we’re clearing and focusing upon.

Each screen has its own time frame.  I have found that the tighter the mesh, the longer and slower it moves down.   Conversely,  the larger the mesh, the faster it moves.  When the screen has moved all the way down or through, then there’s usually a “cleaner being” who will take the screens to be transformed later on into something else.  The energy is just transformed. I will ask them to sweep up areas of debris that I do not want in my space after I’ve finished my work.  I also make it a point to have my work areas  “professionally cleaned” by the spirit world.

A woman who was also involved with the medicine woman at the same time as I was “back in the day” actually was the person who used the screening on her yard. She was having serious issues with bugs taking over everything she planted.  They kept eating everything and nothing would survive.  Our teacher advised her to try to screen them out.  Sure enough, after a couple of hours of using the screening methods, the number of invading insects started to decline.  The next day they were completely gone and did not return.  She had cleared the energy at the level that was causing the issues with the insects.  On another note,  a family of doves moved in the next day, multiplied and stayed for years.  Obviously, the clearing brought in help and support by the birds as well.  The possibilities are endless.

Give it a try, let me know how it goes.  If you have any questions, please ask me.   Also, if you find any new uses for screening, please let me know as well.

Happy Screening !!

Grow food, screen and be at peace!

Nutritional labels and the Microbs within…

I have been doing alternative care work with animals since I was eight years old and have been working on people for over 25 years now.  The subject that I’m going to be discussing came up in one of my bio-dynamic classes a few months ago.  While on the subject of nutrition, labeling was brought up. I have to say that what I heard stunned me, but I knew deep inside that it was the truth.

So I felt that it was imperative to bring it to the blog and allow others to read this information and act accordingly. It may take some time for this to sink in; I know it did for me.  It shows me that what I still believe in is going on around me, but time and time again the proof is that it is a big lie, a hoax. Nutrition is a serious part of our lives and we are not getting any!

Disease is the breakdown of the microbe  forces in the system. Inflammation is the outcome of the breakdown.  All disease in the body starts with inflammation and the aging process is one of inflammation.  If you’re able to slow down or completely eradicate the inflammation, you will become disease free and will look 30 years younger.  Nutrient and a vegetable-based diet are the keys.  Just because you eat vegetables or what you may think is a “good diet” does not mean it has nutrition in it unless the food is grown by farmers who are aware of the soil values.  Even if the food is considered “organic” it may not have nutrient in it.  You may not be aware of this, but leaf veggies lose all of the nutrient three days after they are cut from the plant.  How old is the lettuce in your fridge in that plastic bag?

The following is a short and brief explanation of what inflammation is. When Western medicine looks at your blood to diagnose your disease, they are looking at a cellular level, at the cell.  This is why most treatments do not work.  You have to look deeper, much deeper.  “Alternative medicine” which is actually ”traditional medicine” in some parts of the world such as Asia, Russia, India and all Native peoples, dates back over 10,000 years.  Western medicine which is typically what you will find at the doctor’s office or hospital is less than a 100 years old.

Some Alternative practitioners use a method called dark field hematology. They prick your finger, get a drop of blood, and put it on a piece of glass and look at it under a microscope.  This technique goes much deeper than the cell.  It is more effective than drawing 40 tubes of blood and Western doctors cannot seem to find anything wrong with you.   However, you know, you feel that something is not right.

I have worked on both sides of this equation.  I spent five months in a hospital doing blood work, lab work as an intern. What I witnessed there was frightening and Western medicine says that alternative is barbaric!  There’s no love, no caring  in those places, just dollar bills.  I only practice the alternative and have most of my life.  Especially in the last ten years since being diagnosed with a brain tumor, I am very serious about what kind of treatments I do, what choices I make about my body, and who I go to for it.  It took me years to heal myself.  And the bottom line is this: nutrition and diet are the only things that can reverse what ails you, period.  You may be spirit in a body, but you cannot exist here without this body and the body needs clean, green, nutrient-rich food to run its biological functions.  Otherwise, the body slowly dies.

Microbe 101.  In every cell you have a microbe. When the body is healthy, the microbe stays in the middle of the cell.  The pressure is perfect for them in the red cell.   When water and oxygen are being absorbed by the cell, the microbes are happy.  Stress, disease, injuries can cause an astronomical shift in the cells.   Not enough water or exercise can also result in the body taking in less air and will disrupt the cells’ environment.

Thinking is also on this list.  Negative thinking, fear, and stress produce the cortisol hormone.  Think of this along the same line as having battery acid running through your system which causes serious damage.  When the cell becomes tired, damaged, or is not being fed proper nutrient in the food supply, the microbe  leaves the cell and inflammation is created.  I am mainly focusing on the red blood cells.   If this course of action continues over an extended period of time, say, 20 years,  the cells that are the most damaged will develop into cancer and many other diseases.  I define the word ”disease” as anything that happens to the body that is countering the health, vitality and energy of the body.  Bruce Lipton has many lectures on this topic.  You may want to watch his stuff on the net.

There is another very serious issue here as well.  When the microbe leaves the cell and the cell can no longer absorb water or air it becomes limp and will stick to other cells.   This is inflammation.  When this happens, it causes a red cell stroke as the cells cannot get through the channels.  I have known many people who had a stroke and were cut open to find nothing that would have caused it, such as placque on the walls, etc.      This is because it was a red cell stroke due to heavy amounts of inflammation blocking and clogging the blood flow channels.

Fresh, green local organic produce grown by people who love to farm, harvested and eaten right away have oxygen, the max amount of nutrient and filtered water taken in by the plant.  These are the three crucial ingredients needed by the microbes and cells.  The gentleman who authored “The Maker’s Diet” talks about having five diseases by age 25 and was dying.  He came from a long line of western doctors who were unable to help him.  He ended up eating rich, black soil /dirt to heal himself and within six months was completely healed.  This is because the soil was rich in nutrient and healthy microbes that his system needed.

In chemical soil, there are no microbes.   In overworked soil, there are no microbes.   In one crop farms, even organic farms, there’s not enough microbes.   That is why sprays and all sorts of chemical fertilizers need to be added because there are not enough microbes to do the job naturally.  This is also the case with your body.   The microbes are the center of your body and how it will operate.  If you do not give the microbes what they need, you will end up taking many chemicals in the form of pills, creams and treatments that will further destroy the microbes.  Radiation kills the microbes that we need to bring health to our bodies.  When you go to the airport and go through the radiation X-ray machine, this will damage and kill the already sick microbes in your body which may ultimately result in your death sentence in the long run.

In some spiritual science circles there is a direct connection to microbes in the soil and water in the form of rain.  Since the 1900s, studies were done by brilliant minds about the correlation to microbes in healthy soil and the ecosystem which brought rain to it and the soil that was lacking microbes by the manner in which it was farmed and the drought that was brought on by it.

The label which I posted on this blog demonstrates what I am talking about right now, this part of the blog. What I am about to tell you should change your thoughts about buying anything in any kind of packaging ever again and that your diet focus should be on growing your own food and eating a vegetable-based diet.  When labeling products first came out in the 50s, it was to legitimately tell consumers the nutrient values in the product after it was processed. Products like orange juice that have been on the market a very long time have never been forced to update the labeling from the first time it was analyzed.  This means that any orange juice company can just add the 1950′s label of the original values onto their product without actually doing their own product study to discover what it truly does and does not contain now in 2012.

The big picture here is that the orchards in which oranges are grown are mono culture, one crop.  They no longer have any nutrient in them!  By the time they process it and cook it to make it safe, any nutrient that may have been present is completely gone.  A plant and tree will produce a fruit.   However, this does not mean that the soil has nutrient or microbes.  The same can be said for the plant producing the fruit and the fruit itself.  We have created a culture of food where we put chemicals on the soil and plants to make them think they are getting what they need to grow and produce fruit, when, actually, we have tricked them.

Looking at labels is a joke!   The older the product, the longer it has been on the market, the less nutrient it will have and companies are not being forced to re-evaluate their products as they are allowed to use the existing labels already on products.  Obviously new products such as pomegranate juice may have more nutrient if the labels were made in the 80′s.  If consumers knew the truth, they would not buy lies.

Beware and be aware of what you’re buying.  Ask questions!  Get the facts and grow your own food or as much as you can.  If you heal the microbes in your own soil and grow the plants you eat, then they will go into your body and heal the microbes within.  If you follow this advice you will never need a doctor again.

Grow food and find peace,

Clockwise, Counterclockwise and the Chaos in the Middle…

Hello Everyone! Blessings to you! May the light of the sun warm your spirit creating a glow of  a fulfilling life!

I am sitting here this morning as I face writing about something I mostly do not have a vocabulary for. It comes to me in feelings.

The last week has found my body unraveling on pretty deep levels internally and externally. Over the last year I have turned back into the past to retrieve some powerful practices which I am using again. The most significant practice in the process of tension release in the body (which is basically the release of all the density) has been returning to prayer smoking. I was not serious about in the past it did not help me much back then, I was not commited to learning from it. I have become quite serious about my daily prayer smoke now. If you would like to learn this practice I invite you to call COE or come by on a day when you have time and pray with me. We can pray for whatever is creating weight in your heart and for all of those who’s hearts are feeling the same density. Density/Tension is a sign of imbalance.

Energy is everything! How we use our energy in the present moment determines every second, moment in our future. Where does one start and how can I project the energy I want in this life experience?

It begins with our energy and how we choose to use it over the course of our day. The act of choosing in the morning when you are fresh. Am I going to create new fields of energy around me? Or will I get out bed and run through my day forgetting I am a being of light stuck in uncreation mode, which constantly re-creates my past in my daily life, future life?

The photos I picked for here are circle in origin. The symbol link on this blog can give you an idea of the meanings for it. For me circles and vortexes are the same. The circle is in a mode of no movement or action. The vortex is the action of the circle when the energy is stirred by our mind, our hand, our spirit and the big one most of all, our emotion.

The first lessons in the circle came from my Lakota Medicine Woman teacher. The circle or the wheel is life, my life. It has on it every experience I have ever had. There are 4 directions on the wheel when you look from a circle non- movement frame of mind. Each direction represents the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. This is basic.  However there are deeper and broader meanings that I am not going to get into here. Somewhere on the wheel is a bundle for every experience I have in this life. If you are having too many emotional experiences, that part of the wheel will become imbalanced.. have you watched an imbalanced wheel roll along? The wheel is a guide to living a balanced life in the present moment, choosing how I am going to spend  energy or life force and  life purpose, in the forms of bundles equally spaced around my wheel.

When we are the 7 directions into the Wheel of life or circle it becomes a vortex of energy. It can go counter or clockwise. We add the sky, earth and ourselves into the connecting with the 7 directions. When we move from the 4 directions just a circle with life experience (which also can be called our medicines and poisons) to the 7 directions, we create a vortex from the sky to the earth and back to ourselves.

Now I can add in the direction of the vortex energy flow if we are actually making it. Most of us are spending our life try to just balance out our wheels or circles. We are living our past in every moment and future moment. People ask me how to tell if you are creating your past in today. Have you ever seen someone you do not know and thought that looks like such and such? Or having inner actions with a new person in your life  and the person and the issues remind you of the past? Those are pretty simple ways to know. Going from the wheel living our life, to the conscious way of living life in a 7 direction vortex way, we have 2 choices and we can use them both.

One energy is clockwise and one counter clockwise. What I practice is that the clockwise is creation, creating new, moving forward in a conscious choosing way. Counter clockwise is unraveling, uncreating, like a do over. Lately I have been really actively pondering this in everything I do. You have to be present to do it for sure. If I walk my dog I make sure I move in a clockwise direction and to circle back to where I started. I am choosing to be in a creation mode, every minute I am conscious of the movement of the energy I am going in. The energy moves differently in Australia then here in north America naturally, I have no idea what that means, I have not had the opportunity to play with it yet. When I drive on the roads it is a challenge to move in the clockwise fashion. I am avoiding circle drives which are set up to force you to drive counterclockwise direction, which is then causing an unraveling of something I am creating. This is how I use the energy on a basic level. Try it sometime and see for yourself how programmed you are.

I consciously move around the yards in a creation manner when creating a new project. If I was considering buying a house I would walk clockwise around it.

If you are recapitulating massive amounts of old past events, emotions and people by all means I would spend that time consciously recaptiulating in a counter clockwise motion to decreate it.

Remember,  this is basic. These are basic ways to consciously choose your energy flows which will help you become present and connect with your life purpose. I believe that every circle in you functions this way. Think about what you can heal if  you choose from the basic circle / shape of a cell to a cell with vortex of power of creation! We can also choose a deeper level of intention about those vortexes going clockwise with the thoughts of health, beauty and life. You could use them in a counter-clockwise motion and think the dis-ease is vanishing, unraveling, going back to the uncreated. The kabalah is just this idea in the basic form.  Looking at one of the symbols on a flat surface is just that like the circle, but if you in your mind hold that symbol and allow it to become a vortex of energy spinning it becomes magic in a sense. It is no longer a solid form;  it has become an energy vortex of information. You have the power to use it to uncreate or create in you.

Finally, I am bringing in the chaos energy.  The chaos feature is the creator/you because we do the choosing of how that energy will flow.  I connect with the East, I connect with the South, I connect with the  West, I connect with the North ( 4 directions); I connect with Sky/Universe; I connect with the Earth and ultimately, I connect with Myself.  I consciously choose to connect in a clockwise direction during the 4 directions, which starts the energy flow in the direction I am creating. Then I connect with above and the energy begins the vortex flow. It becomes a full vortex when I connect with earth. I become the Chaos when it comes back to me. I am the one choosing, I could choose to not connect with all the directions only the 4, which is everyday life,  or, I could connect with them all and create magic, life force, will then I am the chooser of the direction;  I need the energy/vortex to flow to deal with whatever is in my present moment.

I have been going to school for Biodynamic farming.  I spend quite a bit of time stirring structured water with preparations made basically from herbs that are sprayed to help soil, plants and Earth. I took a class on it recently. When you stir the water you are creating energy. Typically the water and preparations are stirred for an hour in structured water. You stir one direction and make a vortex and then the other direction doing the same. For me it is like creating for 5 minutes and then uncreating for 5 minutes, building the energy and relieving it. Then there is the chaos. Stirring has taught me about the chaos factor. The chaos is between the vortex change. When I stop a direction and then turn it by stirring I am creating chaos. Chaos has become to me the between state where I am in the creation or uncreation for life forces.  Chaos is the choice or lack of a choice. In the 7 directions  you connect with yourself, the chooser, the person with the infinite possibilities in the chaos. When you focus consciously in the present moment on that one thing you desire or are being affected by you can choose  then to either create the desire by moving the energy in a clockwise motion or stir your energy to the uncreate mode to clear the issues that are affecting you from past experience choices and in most case lack of presence to choose from a 4 direction life.

I have been working dramatically with these ideas and after a year of prayer, connecting and consciously even physically watching the flow of energy can almost without thinking naturally follow creation vortexes instead of my old natural flow of uncreation and the imbalanced wheel of my life.

Grow Food! Put your energy into the Creation of the growing of your food!

Dimensional Realities for a Literal Mind…

It’s been a struggle trying to bridge all the work that COE does. For months I’ve tried to separate all the elements of work done here. Finally, I have come to a place where the outside world is mirroring the constant spiritual concepts of separation versus oneness. Now, moving towards the new awakening, I want and desire oneness, both in business practices and personal lifestyle. The work that I originally planned was for the spiritual approach to earth and  land, and how to use spirit as an active path to integrate harmony between land, trees and plants we may use for food or medicine. Though I write here about science and farming, I am most conscious of the energy world.  My life training  has been to actively influence the world’s energy. I am clearing my own separateness in this blog to effect totality and oneness.

In the next few blogs I will be discussing some simple concepts that represent truth for me. I have been receiving insight on clarifying these ideas so that many more of you might grasp them. I want to state for the record that the ideas I share here are mine. They are not views shared by everyone.  If I write about native people teachers with whom I’ve worked, I  know that all of them carry different levels of information and how that information is shared. On this blog I am expressing my ideas, feelings, thoughts and concepts that produce results in successful cultivation of land and curing dis-ease.

The dimensional realities that I have been taught as well as experienced exist as layers and levels to allow the healing work I do. I can move up and down in these layers like an elevator in a skyscraper. Each human has these level within the field of energy around each indivual. Every field that I have had the pleasure to work in extends out past the sun. I am sure that it goes on forever. However, my work has been in the 64 levels or layers within the individual field of energy. When someone is in your space they could literally be in China. That is why we are really all “One”  This applies to the field of energy we  share everywhere plus the space we occupy to experience indivduality.  Injury, fear, perceived failures and violent activities that we do to each other and ourselves can create walls around our field, giving us the feeling of separation from everything we are actually experiencing. Know that you are never separated from the energy field of the oneness; you could never be, it is where the true being in you was created, developed and cultivated for the work you do, your purpose. Sometimes we may not ever get to the purpose we came for because we cannot believe that we are part of a whole.

Recently something hit home for me.  I think this may be the piece I was missing that made it hard to  get to a deep level. In order for me to have my dream or, I think more correctly, my life purpose, I have to be a part of making others’ dreams come true. Judgement really plays out when the automatic inner competition we feel towards others blocks the manifestation of our own dreams.  These thoughts and feelings will keep you far away from your dreams, because you are blocking others by judging them. When we wish the best for another we, wish it for ourselves. Try it for a month and you will see what I mean!  Not only will your life better, but the world around you will become better. If you are not sure what to wish for another being,  wish something you want, like happiness!

In December of 2006 I transported in my car. The field I entered with my car literally took me from one side of Fresno, California to the other, I had never been to the side I was at and had no idea which way to head. To this day I know that the porthole if you will must have opened and I was in the right space and place. Though I blew it off as some imagination of my mind. I told myself I needed to be more present in case  it happened again… then I would know for sure. Enter January 2007. I was leaving Ojo Caliente in New Mexico a healing place I was staying at during the ice storm that winter that had hwy 40 closed. After 7 days the hwy was clear. I left Ojo and headed south. For those of you who have never traveled through New Mexico, it is a desert at a very high elevation. 1 1/2 hours into the drive I was gettting closer to Santa Fe and all of a sudden I had a sense of driving in the opposite direction and when I looked up I was in the mountains forested with trees. I freaked out, literally. I had no idea where I was! None. At the next town I stopped at a gas station and found out that I was at the south east section of Colorado. I headed back to the car with so many things running through my head, the thoughts I remember the most was, ” Holy shit what if I would have landed in China? How do you explain that? How would you get back?”

A few years ago I actually met another person who had a similar thing happen on the same highway. The difference was that he saw a Being standing over the road and then arrived at the the destination he was going to immediately after driving beneath the Being on the road. He traveled 2 hours in a flash. He was definitely much more present and conscious than I was during my experience.

A very important point is that this event started a very difficult and challenging cycle for me. I believe I was not present, and the creation or creating mode in my head was negative.  When I hit the porthole, it changed my direction on a lower vibration path. Choice is everying and you need to be present in the here and now.

I have spent much of my life on a spiritual path… for me it is the only path. I have done cermonies in the waking life or wake state that have taken me on trips all over  other worlds. These were the kind of experiences where the spirit leaves the body and journeys elsewhere.  I have used the dream state or the dreaming world to take trips to other worlds where I have gathered information and in some cases been trained on how to help someone/a field of energy in the here and now. This was also the spirit leaving the body periods of time. It was not until I started being transported that I fully grasped that we could at anytime leave and come back,  take a trip in a second with the body, go where ever you are in  a car or maybe in a house. Carlos Castaneda was telling us this in his books, that these things were possible.  We just have to move the assembly point to get there. Move the point of reference within the energy field that we are part of. I have not transported since the 2007. I believe that the higher part of me needed me to understand through a physical experience. I also believe that the conditions need to be right to basically fall into a gap between the layers, dimensions. I have worked on people who fell down and  had a shift of consciousness, maybe like fell into another dimension, sometimes a lower operating systen in the 3rd dimenstional reality we are living and sometimes a higher experience.  Head injuries can jerk us into another dimensions and usually they are a lower vibration or experience of the same life with different condtions. When we are injured in an unconscious way we can be sure that it will throw us into a world that may be more negtivie than the one we were in. If we are present, awake and aware when we say hit our head it will propel us into a higher vibrating reality.

I would like to leave you with this idea. The idea that 64 dimenstional layers is like a 64 level high rise or skyscraper. Please do include the 13th floor in your mind. Would not want to leave out such an important floor or number, or host of beings who live there.

Let’s say that the 1st and 2nd floors are underground. Some people may call it the areas of darknsss. In our skyscraper everything has light so we will call it the floors of unconsciousness or lower vibration. There is never an experience or place inside you may go that is not of value. Remember earlier when I said that we are all part of the one energy field? The same thing here applies even to the underground floors or dimensions. At one time we were beings who lived on the 1st and 2nd levels and we may know people that still do!

The 3rd floor is the most important. I am calling it the 3rd dimension. That is where most of us are living. In our skyscraper it is where everything including us comes in and out. It is where the door to the outside parking lot dwells. The elevator goes up and down the 64 floor or layers of consciousness. Like in a hotel, there are beings living on every floor that maintan that world or level of consciousness. They go up and down the elevator into different realities. I was made aware during a out of the body trip that a human can have over 350 helpers, beings from other floor or dimensions taking care of them, and that is only for our physical systems. Beings on different levels work with your physical life. Literally I can say that a belief in separation in fact causes dis-ease. When we create a wall around us we block out everything and our will becomes useless. That is when we learn to use manipulation and control to get what we want. When our will sparks in us it then sparks into action and all the forces of everything that exists on each floor, all beings sparks into action into a flow of creation for us. When we build a reinforced brick-layered wall around our room in the hotel, put in an alarm system and consciously become an island our will, divine will becomes blocked. This is apart of the 3rd reality or 3rd floor experience and in the separation mode we can really create our own hell on earth. Will is a signal, a wave of energy that is creation it’s self.

I have had to travel to the 34 floor to find beings who know the information for the 7th floor shift or in clearer terms to heal the brain tumor in my head.

There has been talk that some of us on the 3rd floor were moved without noticing to much to the 4th floor or 4 dimensional reality. This is the reality in physical terms of the heart. When you are on the 4th floor you will start to feel more love, peace and this can also lead to the physical healing in the 3rd floor of dis-ease or damage in the heart of the body.

There is also talk in the world about many of us being moved to the 5th floor or fifth dimension- that this is the true event that is happening during December 23, 2012.

In this skyscraper of 64 levels we all use the elevator. There are times when we are in the flow that things just happen, right place and the right time are happening all the time. There are times when we are not in the flow we are in separation and it is like climbing up Mount Everest and never getting to the top.

Have you ever had the experience where you encountered a person so completely cut off from reality that they seemed like they came out of a cave? Or have you ever had the experience of bumping into a spiritual master out of the blue? They imparted deep wisdom or did something that could not be explained? Maybe for that moment your vibrational exchange was inner acting with beings or persons existing on other floors or realities than ourselves. That we all meet, collide enter and exit through the 3rd floor or 3rd dimension becasue it is where the physical world is and all of it is happening in it, for it and doing whatever work they are there to do with us. We are moving in and out of fields of energy and most of the time, not aware of it. It is why strange things will appear here on the 3rd floor, sometimes it comes out of nowhere.  There are all kinds of strange things that appear here in our realities and many times it happens when our attentions shift. Then we open up, we become present to this moment and then KABOOM, something shows up on our radar, in our present reality.

The skysraper is the oneness energy field, what we are apart of. The floors/levels dimensions are the levels of consciousness and what exist there, just like the 3rd floor is a physical body experience. The rooms we occupy are the individual fields of energy we experience how the universe is express through us in a physical way and creating our desire by our will or lack of will. None the less we are a part of the oneness. We can choose to wall ourselves off from all that exisits thus blocking our highest and greatest will from working and end up suffering greatly.

When we understand energy we then can understand everything around us. We can open, take down the walls and flow effortlessly with all things on this planet in the 3′d, into the 4′d and into the 5th. We spend far more effort “man handling” the world around us, acting violently, making ” a living”, “a zoo”, “a war”, and the list goes on  in a place of separation.” I will not!” If you find yourself in a constant game of “I will not,” try playing “I will” for awhile and see what happens. You might need to get a divorce, change jobs, go out and date, go back to school, find a spiritual teacher…who knows where “I will” may lead you? My hope is that it will take you to the 4th floor of consciousness and someday all the way up.

A Season 4 everything & a Garden bed Prep

4 everything there is a season:

FALL

is a good time: to have your soil evaluated; to prune roses, shrubs and bushes; to apply compost and put mulch or chips on areas of the yard that need nutrient; to remove plants and trees that are dead or not growing well ; to have / use biodynamic organic sprays for leaves to help fruit to mature; to cover sensitive plants for winter; to deal with erosion areas; to glean remaining produce; to collect and dry seeds; to build a winter cold frame; to replace organic material in your cold frame; to plant in your cold frame; to plant winter crops  as seedlings.

WINTER

is a good time: to prune trees and cut back last year’s growth; to create an effective food storage operation so that your fall and winter produce will last as long as you need it to; in late winter, to start sprouting seeds to plant as seedlings in spring gardens; to create a culinary herb window garden; to plan your summer garden; to build containers to harvest water.

SPRING

is a good time: to have soil evaluated; to plant new trees and plants; to build raised beds; to put in a new garden area; to have / use biodynamic organic sprays for soil fertility and root growth; to dig up rocky, sandy and clay areas and bring in new soil; to plant deep- rooting plants for erosion areas; to harvest rain / snow water; to direct seed in cold frames to grow into seedlings for summer gardens.

SUMMER

is a good time: to have soil evaluated; to have biodynamic organic sprays applied for soil fertility and root growth; to have / use biodynamic organic sprays for increased growth and fruit; to deal with molds and pests; to harvest produce; to collect and dry seeds; to build a cold frame for winter crops; to collect your seeds for a winter garden; transplant spring seedlings; to start winter seedlings by direct seeding; to remove the used organic materials from cold frame and put it on an area of your yard that needs compost.

I was creating a flyer for the Urban Farm Project here in Reno I had the  idea of putting on it the farming, gardening activities of every season in an attempt to get people 1) more motivated about their urban domains of food production and 2) to place the  flyer on their refridgerator as a reference on what they can do every season or perhaps hiring COE to help them!

Feel free to print a copy off this blog. Put it somewhere to remind you of where to focus your attention each season. It is not a completed list. If I have missed something feel free to let me know what it was and I will add it to the season that it belongs.

The second section includes my urban garden bed preparation for winter.

1) Built a block boarder to hold in soil that was eroding all over the sidewalks and out into the city drain. I used a run of the mill block that you see everywhere. Since I already had them, I used them. You can harvest bricks, pavers and an assortment of boarder creating items from houses being remodeled and habitat for humanity in your area usually has recycled building materials.

A few months ago the house across the street from where COE and I have been renovating began to be remodeled. I approached the new owner about the piles of bricks and pavers being thrown off the house and around the property. Since he was not interested in them, he wanted a modern look he was more than happy to let me have as many as I wanted. For me it is very important to be sustainable and thrifty. For the new owner he saved himself quit a bit of labor as well as dumping costs by me taking the materials off his hands. Whether you need the items or not at the time you come across them should not be an issue. You can store them, share them with others and if you are going to create and urban farm you will find so many uses for these used materials.

2) The bricks created a raised bed and since there was not enough soil in the garden bed. I had to bring in soil from other areas of the yard where too much soil was an issue. I added several wheel barrows of depleted soil. I will be building many different types of layers on top of the soil to fortify it. It is not necessary to have good soil, nature and I can make it good soil by spring.

I left about 4 inches of room from the top of the bricks to the soil and will be filled in with soil makings.

3) I was lucky to have piles of horse poopy here in the property that was delievered here a few months ago. I spread a medium layer of horse dropings over the soil. There was a bail of straw that was left from last fall which was rotting slowly.  Rottening is perfect to rebuild new soil. I spread out all the straw on top of the soil and horse poopy. I was able to use the straw. Otherwise I might have had to move it, take it to the dump more than likely. Again sustainabilty, using what you have, using what you can find close, using what someone else might have, saving money, saving labor, saving time and most of all saving out planet. The less we consume the less is manufactured and the less that ends up as waste in a land fill some where.

4) I had some old stumps and limbs, old dead wood laying around. Instead of tossing the old wood into the old garbage can I placed big chunks all over the garden bed. The old wood will break down slower giving the bed long term fuel, food to break down and turn into soil over time. Remember not to add materials that have toxic chemicals, those items should be removed from your yard properly, discarded properly of.

5) I watered the garden bed area to keep the material from blowing away and to assist with the breaking down. While I watered I thought good thoughts to the water coming out of the hose onto the garden bed. I thought good thoughts to the soil, the insects, the materials and to the forces of nature that will be working to break it all down and turning it into the best garden soil. This will support every need of the plants and provide very nutrient rich food for the bodies of the people eating it and in some cases animals as well.

6) There is a load of rich compost coming in a few days to place on top of what is there so far. It will get about a 3 inch cover of compost over the top. If you have a place in which you can create your own compost piles, go for it. The more your hand and heart are involved with what grows. Creating whats needed on your own land makes better medicine for the earth and will provide you with medicine as food back to you. More water. More good thoughts.

7) Lastly another layer of chips, wood chipswill come and be added to the top. Water and good thoughts.

In Nevada it can be extremely dry even in winter, check your garden bed weekly to make sure there is enough moisture to create the break down of the materials. Winterizing your garden bed for spring should be an annual activity.

blessings, grow food!

In Your Own Backyard…

Yesterday the last day of September 2011 we were out late afternoon picking blackberries off a very old mother blackberries bush. I am not sure if she could be categorized as a bush, check out the photos yourself.

After returning to Nevada in July after a 3 month large urban farm internship on the northern California coast I began to look at the area in which I was living much closer. The photos are taken in the old Sparks area. In most of our older areas of towns and cities you can find many old apple trees, peach trees, blackberries bushes and much more. With in a 3 block radius here in Sparks where I am renovating a yard I have found so many food producing plants growing on their own. I harvested 3 paper bags of peaches from the neighbors tree a few weeks ago. I Shared these beautiful and i have to say tasty peaches with 4 other families across the street. I told this tree eveyday how lovely she was and felt deep kindness towards her and it paid off in the sweetest fruit.

The issues that these old neighborhoods are facing as a result of the economic systems failing us are tragic. In the old Sparks area meth addicts and drug dealers make up a large percentage of houses being lived in. Many of these houses are no longer kept up and as a direct result the old food producing plants are dieing and under large amounts of stress due to the negative energy produced by drugs and the effects on the people taking them. we are loosing food supplies!

Notice the dog in the photos? That is my Gin Gin. She is the offical Super hero of this old community. Gin is 9 months old. She was living at a meth house across the street from where I am renovating and it is also around the block from where we were picking the blackberries in the alley way.  Gin Gin never seemed to have water in her yard, she was escaping constantly in the way of cars roaring down the street, she lived off of diapers and cat shit literally. I finally rescued her over 2 months ago. She is the smartest dog I have ever known. She is now my official peace keeper urban farm dog. Gin has some how become symbolic of this old community. Gin is fast becoming the love of my life! She loves anything I feed her, she especially loved the blackberries and goobled them as we picked them.

Without going off the deep end here i think that we all need to consider being a better part of our communities in different ways than the usual thinking process leads us.

Have you ever wondered your 3 block area and looked at what kind of plants and trees ar growing there? Are they food baring plants? Do the plants need pruning, cleaning up or maybe some compost to help feed them? Could they be removed to a better location and who could help with that? Could the fruits be removed? Could the fruits be taken to places where families in need could take them home? There are so many movements in this time period that are answering many of the questions I just asked and maybe your involvement in the future could benefit not only the plants, trees, earth, but could vey well benefit yourself, others and our animals. Just looking around and noticing sometimes all it takes for a bigger picture to open up to us. Lifting our eyes to the sky can open our minds.

We have such negitive news weighing on us day in and day out, I find getting away from it, digging in the dirt, touching a plant, a tree, an animal or another person with my hand and heart can uplift me in any situation. We are all in this together, all of us together, letting go of judgement finding what makes us more the same.

A group of us picked the most amazing blackberries yesterday, I came home and made a pie, it was so tasty, pure, it had love in it from the mother blackberry bush. She loves us for sharing in what she offers us, what she has grown for us and it is up to us to give her a future to contiue to feed us.

I encourage everyone to investigate your area in which you live, take a look and see what is growing there. If you find fruit gt prmission to pick it, then find a kid to help you harvest, any kid will do. Many kids have no idea where food comes from any more, our health, our future depends on educating them and that may mean educating ourselves on the same  issues as well.

grow food! Protect our food!

Inner city Side walk Garden…

It has been a couple of weeks since the last post. Many amazing insights have come to me. I am digesting  and allowing my inner processes to reveal all into  the blog; new videos, consulting for urban property owners in the Reno area, and an Urban Farm Project web page that should hit the net this week! Big changes here, as it all unfolds for the highest and greatest good. Just know there is more to come, my readers, more to come. I started classes on biodynamic farming and wow! wow! wow! Can I just say my life will never be the same?! I am gearing up to bring you new truths about the world in which we live! Now to the blog!

In this blog you will find before and after photos of an urban city domain that I have been renovating for 2 1/2 months. My focus has become about edible and  medicinal plants as companion plantings. The before shots were taken 2 1/2 months ago. We are going to just look at the beds outside of the fence, the front street beds, the inner part of the yard is another blog down the road!

When I began working on these beds there were many  obstacles. Reno is a desert… very demanding of the farmer. The house was built in 1905, which means a number of things: too much soil in the beds, mostly sand; no nutrient in the soil (pretty dead and lifeless); the dirt was hard as a rock and the cherry on top was that the yard sat on an old river bed full of those great round river rocks! yippeeeee

The front beds were more like enemies, they were armed and ready for battle. I was going to have to use those present moment techniques I have learned to stay in the game. My mental chant “Carry Water and Chop Wood” breath, breath, breath……..

The first tasks on the list was to remove soil? How much soil? I discovered that you can read books but in the end it is the land and you. This can lead to situations in farming that you’re lack of experience creates confusion. However, you are the only one who can appropriately make decisions it in order to grow and provide food and herbs to sustain and heal.  What needs to be done should be based on your eyes, ears, smell, feel and, ultimately for me,  intuition.

The depletion of the soil was so extreme the only sensible measure I could take was to remove 6 to 10 inches of soil. I hit those river rocks at about 4 inches, and I suspect the people across the road heard a few cuss words!

My Dad always taught me to do a job right. How I feel inside about what I am doing is how to do the job right. I see why so many people take the easy way, the short way and are angry, with an unsuccessful result. I was going  hold fast  to  ”doing the job right the first time.”  In order to do it right ,I must dig the soil all the way out. The front beds found my weaknesses, but in the end,  helped me recapture past experiences and recover energy that had been blocked. Energy blocks that I now realize had kept me repeating cycles of frustration, giving up on myself and blocking my own life’s energy.

While I am engaged in the practice of urban farming I always offer gratitude. Always thank the water, the soil, the earth for helping you to clear any energies. These energies can stand in the way of your life. Farming has given me my life back with great respect to all things, even myself. I had many a prayer smoke with the greatest thanks to the great spirit, during the renovation of the front beds.  I became  always thank you no matter what!

I shoveled the old dirt out and wagon’d it to the back into a pile. Later, when I have a chance, I will turn it into a compost,  regenerating and using it in the future on other parts of the yard. When all the dirt was out I applied a new top soil. I made this top soil from 1/2 completed compost, fir mulch and a potting soil. I mixed them all together and filled the long beds. Later on, as the plants in the beds grew, I applied another inch  of fir mulch and kelp meal. Here in the Reno area we have alkaline soils, with alkaline water. We need to add in much needed acids to get the balance so plants will grow. Just like the human body: too much alkaline and the heart will stop and too much acid and the heart will stop. We are so similar to soil and plants in what we need to grow, seed, bloom and bear fruit. Since we eat the plants, does it not make sense that they need to be perfectly balanced to give us the proper balance. Kelp meal is the most amazing nutrient! If I have time in the future I will blog just about kelp meal!

I am becoming a bit of an old school farmer. I do not want to buy what I can make or cultivate from my own yard or someone else’s. The first plants I planted were yarrow. Yarrow is my friend… what I do learn about it and from it blows my lid off! You can use yarrow blooms to create nitrogen preps for soil. You can mow it creating an herb lawn that mulches itself, thus adding nutrient in the long-term to soil. It holds water and can be planted around sensitive areas that need to be cooler. Yarrow can bring ancient nutrients up from the depths of the earth to feed and nourish other plants. You can make ales out of yarrow for stomach ailments. Yarrow gives and gives. I prefer the wild yarrow that is a non-hybrid.  It has white flowers. Yarrow grows wild!  Dig it up and plant it where you need it  most.

Next, I found a large area of penny royal in the yard. I love penny royal.  It has a great smell and bees love it. It helps, like yarrow,  and attracts bees to your yard. This is necessary for growing a deluxe garden. You can rub it onto the skin as a natural bug repellent. Penny royal grows fast and is a good ground cover, helping to cool down areas for trees and plants that enjoy cooler moist climates.

Then, I planted onions, every kind of onion i could get my hands on. There are large white and purple onions, shallots and green onions. Remember I am gathering all of these plants from other people and places. My first choice would be from a bio dynamic farm…d  plants have a vibration of love.

A serious issue of domain was the bugs. Sugar ants, carpenter ants, earwigs…….. Creating a front bed barrier to new bugs migrating in was imperative, the onions have done a master job in creating this barrier. When the onions move in the yarrow and penny royal literally sang. I had no idea what great companions onions would be and no idea what companion planting can really bring to the table until I felt the perfection.

Lastly I direct -seeded calendula, and with the right soil and the companions already the calendula has grown so fast!  It’s beauty has warmed the cold heart. I am looking forward to using it in healing balms. If there are any words I could write to express the glory of growing herbs, it is in the moment when you have a need for them and you can go pick them, your own medicine, and make it up right there. Last night our doggy, Gin Gin, came home from the vet. She had her lady parts fixed. The razor the vet used to shave her left burn marks. I went out picked a few leaves of comfry, mashed it up, added a bit of grape seed oil and applied it to her burn areas. The results were nothing short of perfection. The best is that if she licks it no big deal!

Maintenance:    I cultivate the soil in the beds once a month, water and will be putting a layer of chips and mulch and inch deep over it for winter. Everything will reseed and be big and thicker next year. The front beds have become a slice of heaven for all of us; the grower, the owner, the people walking and driving by. It is like a hope, a dream for a better day, a sigh of relief in a world of stress, pain and frustration. I have created an energy of delight to the senses…the eyes, smell, taste and touch. Peace surrounds me, from  the plants, from what I am doing, and why I choose the methods I use. People drive by, turn around and visit the yard. Maybe the real change we need has to do with the plant and tree world. It appears to me that they create life, which is love, respect and reverence .  I am finding that I just need to be aware, give them nourishment and  love.  This way the green world will teach me everything i need to know.

In the near future I am teaching classes on medicinal plants and planting with harvesting for healing as my goal. For now I am just listening to them and and allow the teaching they offer to me to make me whole.

This week the Urban Farm Project had it’s first job and is launching a traveling consulting company, specializing in edible and medicinal plants in urban areas. You never can tell where life will lead you? You never know what you will do or how you will do it? You never know until you learn to Chop that wood and Carry that water, which means to just focus on what is front of you, learn about it, immerse yourself in it, be it, and become it!

Until we meet again, grow food!

The Cultivation of Earth as Self

Cultivate: to promote or improve the growth of (a plant, crop, etc.) by labor and attention.

Cultivation: 1) a person or thing that cultivates. 2) an implement drawn between rows of growing plants to loosen the earth and destroy weeds.

Cultivation: 1) the act or art of cultivating.  2) the state of being cultivated. 3) culture; refinement.

This week’s post is coming a bit late. In working with spirit, whatever that spirit be named for each one of us, it can take a bit of time to listen.  Collecting information from the ethers  is like turning on the spirit computer in myself and hitting download.

This was not an easy blog to write. Within the culture I grew up I did not learn to cultivate anything. I personally had to take time to think about cultivating, what I cultivate, how do I cultivate and when do I cultivate? When I received the information that I would be writing about cultivating ( see photo of cultivator garden tool attached) I temporarily went into a place of resistance. I needed to spend some time contemplating what the word meant to me. I was generally feeling sadness inside. I had to face the fact that I am the cultivator of my life, my soil, my water and everything that exists. As I searched my inner data banks I could not recall learning much about cultivating. In the culture I live in I began to recall learning more about running from everything; cultivating was the exact opposite of how I had lived my life. When I first picked up a cultivator and used it, I could feel anger and hostility. It took me months to relate it to energy. Memories flooded me from my past that I have been out-running, pretending things never happened. I began to use cultivating to feel my resistance, notice stress and this brought me to deep breathing. Cultivating the garden became a time for me when I could focus and let go no matter what was going on around me.

Spending  time, in a peaceful place, with love in your heart cultivating your crops in a physical way is also an act of creating it within. For myself this week has brought me to a place of unraveling deep energies within. I wanted to present you with the definitions of the words, the descriptions of the act of cultivating. Cultivating has become so much more as it reaches into my areas of consciousness that have not be activated.

I recently spent 2 months on a farm in which the main work was cultivating. I began to understand early on that if the soil is not cultivated regularly,  it becomes solid, hard and the weeds can be a boxing match event to remove. On the other hand if the soil is constantly cultivated it is light, fluffy, easily absorbs water, increases oxygen to the root systems of your plants which are the respiratory system of every plant and the weeds, the little invaders, are brought into a sort of compliance that even a 2 year old could handle.

The physical act of cultivating is a peaceful experience, once you get the hang of it. I came to the realization that cultivating the earth was teaching me something about my life that had been dormant. The statement “quantity versus quality” would roll through my mind early in the relaxing phase of cultivating. Cultivating your garden and/or anything else forces you into the present moment. If you are not present moment, your attention is not fully on what you are doing. Cultivators have sharp edges can cut through the stem of the plant damaging and killing them for the future harvest if we are not present giving our full attention. Cultivating is a zen process, it reminds me of raking gravel into meditative designs.

I am spending time farming. I am moving towards becoming a full time farmer. My favorite tool in the shed is a cultivator. It was not that way in the beginning. I Actually hated to cultivate in the fields… it felt like it was never-ending, boring and too time consuming. Now i see it in a much bigger picture. Now when I cultivate it is meditation, I become present, giving my attention to the moment, in the now. For those of you more science based it is also a great workout, builds incredible hand and eye coordination. Highly recommend cultivating for people who have had head injuries, strokes to build new nerve passages.

The cultivator tool you can buy at any garden shop. I prefer the long-handled with the triangle edged style. When buying garden tools, be present, hold them, move them around, notice how you feel about the tools ,buy and use tools you love, you like, that feel good to you. Remember you will be using them on the earth and possible near your food source, never act aggressively towards our mother who cultivates all the plants, trees, air, water, soil, animals and us.

In conclusion I am continuing to learn that I have to focus my attention on that which I want and then I have to cultivate it. The cultivation must be done with peace, tenderness, like an act of love to a beloved. When you grow food for yourself and do it as an act of love, attention, intent you create an experience of edible bliss.

Cultivating any aspect of life is the magic, a life transforming tool, it can only truly be understood by doing it and cultivating the art and practice of it and what it means.

For those of you in Reno if you would like to hands on lesson in cultivating call COE and we can do a class (donation, and you must bring your own tool).

We need not be afraid anymore. You can cultivate anything you wish. Only you are the Cultivator of your creation.

book of the week: Cosmos, Earth and Nutrition [by] Richard Thornton Smith

quote of the week: “An ounce of Yarrow sewed up in flannel and placed under the pillow before going to bed, having repeated the following words, brought a vision of the future husband or wife: ‘Thou pretty herb of Venus’ tree, Thy true name it is Yarrow; Now who my bosom friend must be, Pray tell thou me to-morrow.’”
